5 Kitchen Cabinet Updates On A Budget in Palos Verdes Estates, CA
You may look in your kitchen and think about how much better it would look overall if you were to do something to update your kitchen cabinets, but when you look at the price tag of some of the upgrades you may wince and want to reconsider.
You may be somewhat relieved to find out, therefore, that there are kitchen cabinet updates that you are going to be able to do even while staying on a reasonable budget that is going to improve your cabinets overall and in some cases in a substantial way, as it were.
With that being the case, let’s look at and consider five kitchen cabinet updates on a budget in Palos Verdes Estates, CA.
1. Hidden Hinges
One good possibility for updating the look of your kitchen cabinets while staying on a budget is to replace the hinges that you have with those that are more hidden, as it were.
If you’re not familiar with the concept of hidden hinges, you should have a look at your kitchen cabinets as they are now and see where the hinges are that connect the doors to the cabinets.
Now imagine if you wouldn’t be able to see those hinges at all — how much better would your cabinets look if that were to be the case?
If the answer is good enough, you are likely a good candidate for the replacement of your hinges with hidden hinges.
2. Replace Panels
When you’re looking to make your kitchen cabinets look nicer, it may well be worth thinking about how you could possibly replace the middle panels on your cabinet doors with other materials.
Indeed, you may think that the cabinet should have a relatively uniform appearance in terms of the cabinet doors but this doesn’t have to be the case – and you can replace the panels with such things as glass or even the less breakable plastic of different appearances, depending on your budget.
Doing this can also give you the opportunity to let people see what is inside your cabinets, assuming that you would want to make such a view available of course.
3. Change Hardware
If you don’t already have hardware on your kitchen cabinets, you can aim to improve your cabinets by adding hardware to them (and you don’t have to necessarily get the top of the line hardware in order to make this the case, mind you – you can find perfectly good hardware at places like thrift stores and the like.
If you already have hardware on your kitchen cabinets, perhaps consider switching out to other hardware – bearing in mind again that hardware doesn’t have to mean an expensive investment – there are sometimes lots of hardware to be found online inexpensively – the key is to look well in advance.
4. Add Molding
There is one really nice thing that you can add to your kitchen cabinets that will really round out their appearance and that is molding.
The reason that some people hold off on adding molding to their kitchen is that they don’t know just how much molding to add to the cabinets and if they should keep it the same color, etc.
These are all questions that should be addressed in a separate blog but just know that molding is definitely considered an upgrade to your cabinets.
