Exterior Repaint in Rolling Hills Estates: A Referral From the Roofer
Some of our best projects start with another trade. This Rolling Hills Estates couple came to Cooley Brothers Painting on the recommendation of the company that worked on their roof. When the exterior was finished, foreman Benjamin asked them three questions on camera in their driveway.

A referral from another trade
"We've been referred by the company that did our roof," the homeowners said. Contractors who work on the same houses see each other's work up close. A roofer recommending a painter is a vote from someone who knows what a finished exterior should look like, and we take that referral seriously.
Roof work and an exterior repaint also fit together naturally. Once the roof is sound, the walls, trim, and fascia below it are the next layer of protection against sun and weather.
How we plan an exterior in Rolling Hills Estates
Homes here face strong sun, coastal moisture, morning fog and afternoon wind. A lasting exterior needs a plan, sound preparation and coatings chosen for those conditions. Every exterior we paint follows the same steps:
On-site assessment and proposal. We walk the property, note repairs, discuss colors and put the scope in writing.
Color support. Test patches can go on different elevations so you see the color in real light.
Wash and prep. Surfaces are washed, loose paint is scraped, edges are sanded and open joints are caulked.
Prime and paint. Primers are matched to stucco, wood, metal or masonry, followed by even finish coats.
Daily cleanup and a final walkthrough. We inspect the work with you in daylight and label leftover paint for touch-ups.
The video shows the result: soft gray-green walls, crisp white trim and fascia, and a white garage door, with the red brick wainscot and garage pillar left in their natural finish. Painted siding next to natural brick depends on clean masking and straight lines, because any overspray shows.
Did we do everything we said we would?
That is the second of our three questions, and the answer came without hesitation: "Absolutely. Did a great job."
We value short answers like that most. They mean the project matched the proposal, the crew showed up as planned, and the finished house looked the way the homeowners expected.
